This 5^th issue of the journal has continued the diversity expected of a general medical journal. The seven original articles report research in various areas of interest from different countries. One of the advantages of internet publishing is that letters to the editor can be published alongside the respective articles in the same issue. The letters published in this issue point out several methodological aspects about the original articles that are worthy of note for future researchers. The other sections of the journal also reflect the general diversity which we hope to encourage and maintain. Missing in this issue is the section on community surveys. We hope to receive contributions in this area for future issues.
